Seeking to expand its global control, the mining giant Xstrata PLC announced that it made a bid of 10 billion dollars in cash by Lonmin PLC, the third world producer of platinum.
Although the offer was quickly rejected, declared insufficient, the shares of Lonmin grew explosively, a 47.7%, reaching 34.25 pounds (67 dollars) on the London Stock Exchange.
In the official announcement of the company, Lonmin said that this is an opportunistic attempt to acquire and misplace the company at a price that undervalued its assets only.
With this the company asked its shareholders not to sell, although analysts say it seems very difficult for Lonmin could avoid a forced purchase does not go without another possible offer from a third party.

Only a week after the 2.1 beta iPhone, Apple has released another firmware 2.1 for developers. This new version solves several problems.
"This is the second beta SDK for the iPhone iPhone OS 2.1, including arrangements in the iPhone OS and early implementation of Apple Push Notification Service API. This API has not yet been integrated with the server live."
